Impressions/Permissions/Opt-Out

👁 First Impressions

✩ VISUAL: In an effort to spite me, the author, in particular, the player has chosen to use Emily Browning, who I am sure is a lovely woman, from the film adaptation of the first three of my books, which I am more than certain is a lousy film, to represent Violet here, though the canon of her miseries remains my writing.
✩ FASHION: Violet is currently afflicted by this outfit, though her usual fare in clothing tends more towards simple dark colors.
✩ DEMEANOUR: Violet is a mostly quiet girl - except when she decides not to be - who carries herself very politely and in an unassuming way - unless she carries herself some other way. Generally speaking, though, those are her defaults. When she is particularly deep in thought she can be hard to reach, and whether this is the case or she has been hypnotized can be determined by not only whether or not she is attempting to orchestrate accidents in the nearest lumber mill but also by whether or not she has tied her hair up with a ribbon, a sure sign that nothing sinister is afoot. Well, something sinister tends to be afoot somewhere near her at all times, but mentally this simply means she intends to do some manner of inventing or other planning.
✩ AURAL: Violet speaks in the voice of a lovely young girl who has endured a great number of hardships. She has an accent, as many young girls do regardless of what hardships they have endured, but its origin is hard to place. American? British? German? Scandinavian? Eh, something like that.
✩ OLFACTORY: A little grimy, maybe, but mostly pleasant.
✩ MENTAL INFORMATION: N/A
✩ MAGICAL INFORMATION: N/A

👁 OOC

✩ BACKTAGGING: I tend to keep through the previous week's log open in murdergames, if you want to keep something going or think I've dropped it just let me know!
✩ FOURTHWALLING: The Baudelaires have certainly drawn enough unwanted attention through my writing, don't you think? (No thank you!)
✩ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: While Violet certainly is not unused to the concept, she may be a bit apprehensive about it - a term which here means "confused, alarmed, but not completely opposed to."
✩ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Perhaps some discussion is in order? (Ask first!)
✩ RELATIONSHIPS: While she would hardly describe herself as "looking for love" in this particular sense, should the right partner appear she would hardly find cause to oppose. Though I will not chronicle that sort of thing, out of a rare respect for privacy on my part. (I'm down for it! Just make sure we hash it out ooc first. Also I will cool it on the Snicket gimmick unless you like. Want that?)
⚠ PLAYER PERMISSIONS: The player is not particularly opposed to any topic or misfortune in particular, but appreciates the use of warnings for commonly disquieting things where discussed.

👁 Opt-Outs

✩ TOPICS OF CONCERN (CWs): The tale of the Baudelaires is full of a great many upsetting things, as I have frequently discussed in the promotional material for my books on their lives. That said, please denote if you would personally like to avoid the following aspects of Violet's particular misfortune: emotional abuse, physical abuse, attempted child marriage, descriptions of murder, descriptions of arson, or any other aspect of the books you might be familiar with and wish to avoid. These will be tagged for appropriately, or blanket tagged with "cw count olaf," a warning I wish every day my dear Beatrice had received in time.

✩ THE AUTHOR'S VOICE: Look, I'll level with you, Snicket prose isn't for everyone. If you want me to avoid it in threads with you, comment below and, outside of toplevels, I'll stick to normal bracket text.

✩ CODE: Please fill out the form below and reply to this post. All comments are screened, feel free to only reply to one of the opt-outs.
